Abilities

Ability scores are slightly different than regular D&D. Rather than six abilities typically ranging from 3-18, there are ten scores typically ranging from 1-4. A score of 1 is feeble, 2 is “average” (in the way that an IQ of 100 is average, i.e. somewhat shitty), 3 is competent, and 4 is outstanding. A score of 5 is exceptional (competitive weightlifter, philosopher not full of shit) and 6 is the pinnacle of human potential. Scores of 7 and above are super-human.

Ability scores are determine by either taking 2s across the board or rolling 1d4 straight down the list, no arranging, no fudging, no re-rolling, no complaining. (The arithmetic average of a four-sider is 2.5 so quit bitching). Scores may be improved by spending XP awarded at character creation.
